KARACHI, April 21: Three persons, including an Afghan woman, were shot dead in different areas of the city on Wednesday. Police said that Anil Ahmed Shaikh, 18, was gunned down by unknown persons in Liaquatabad No 9. He was brother of Shahid Shaikh, an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, they said.

According to the police, Anil was standing at a grocery store when two men on a motorcycle opened fire and fled. The wounded was later taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

A large number of Muttahida activists reached the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital after hearing about the incident. In Surjani Town, an Afghan woman was shot dead inside her house in Afghan Camp off the Super Highway on Wednesday.

Police said that two men barged into the house of Fatima Bibi, 40, wife of Faizullah. They shot at her and left the house. The woman was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Quoting the statements of her family members, police said that they had seen the two suspects while they (suspects) were leaving the house. Police said that the suspects had been identified as Jamshed and Noor Mohammad.

After initial investigation, police found out that the victim's son had killed Jamshed's father a few years back. Police were making raids to apprehend the suspects. In Khawaja Ajmer Nagri, a transporter, Nisar Husain, 60, was shot dead outside his house in Sector 5B-2.

Police said that some armed men knocked at the door of Nisar's house. As he came out, the visitors opened fire at him and fled. He was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

ACCIDENTS: Two persons died in separate accidents in the city on Wednesday. Police said that Altaf Husain, 10, was playing outside his house in Lasi Goth when an unknown vehicle knocked him down. The boy died on the spot. His body was shifted to the JPMC for autopsy.

On Mauripur Road, an unknown bus conductor died after being crushed beneath a speeding truck. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.

BODY FOUND: The body of an unidentified young man was recovered from sea near Keamari on Wednesday. The decomposed body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.
