In her written statement, she stated that her father Haji Ilyas Mallah had divorced her mother Malkan in October 2,003 and left for Saudi Arabia. She said that later her mother had married Mustafa Shaikh and she was living with her uncle Mohammad Hashim and stepfather.

She said that her uncle, after receiving a handsome amount from an aged man, was forcing her to marry the man. She added that she wanted to study further and was not willing to marry the man.

She apprehended that her stepfather and uncle might kill her on the pretext of adultery and appealed to the court to provide her protection. The judicial magistrate directed the administration of Dadu to provide her protection. Later talking to journalists, Ms Mallah appealed to the human rights organizations to provide her protection.
