ISLAMABAD, March 30: Pakistan People's Party has demanded release of production order of the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy president, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi.

Mian Raza Rabbani, the PPP parliamentary leader in Senate, in a statement, said under the provisions of Rule 90, it was incumbent on the National Assembly speaker to pass an order for the production of MNA Javed Hashmi the moment the charge was framed against him.

He alleged that the ARD president had been implicated by the government in a fabricated case to prevent him from effectively exposing its policies on the floor of the House.

Mr Rabbani said National Assembly speaker was the custodian of MNAs' rights, therefore, it was his duty to protect the members from the abuse of court proceeding. He said there was no justification for the speaker to avoid the use of Rule 90 of the Rules of Conduct of Procedures and Business in the National Assembly.
