LARKANA, March 28: A robber and a shepherd were killed in an encounter in the Bakrani area near here on Sunday. A group of robbers attempted to snatch a motorcycle from a man who was going to Puranoabad village.

The man screamed as a result villagers as well as police reached the spot. The villagers and police jointly opened fire on the robbers who returned it. A stray bullet hit a shepherd, Zaib Magsi, resulting into his death on the spot.

A robber, identified as Khano Chandio, was also killed from whose possession a Kalashinkov was recovered. However, his accomplices fled.

Suicide: A housewife, Hasina Pitafi, reportedly committed suicide by consuming insecticide in Hoat Khan Pitafi village near here the other day. Cause of the suicide was said to be a domestic dispute.
