GUJRANWALA, March 19: A three-member trade delegation of India besides the delegations of Iran, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Bangladesh visited the industrial exhibition at the Gulshan-i-Iqbal Park here on Friday.

The visiting delegates appreciated the made in Gujranwala products for its quality and expressed the hope that the trade relations of Pakistan with their countries would strengthen in near future.

Members of Indian delegation Shesh Kumar, Sri Jugan Nath and Sanjey Glohatra and traders of other countries suggested that the GCCI should also arrange such industrial exhibitions in their countries.

Earlier, GCCI president Shauket Javed and other office bearers welcomed the members of delegations and apprised them of some obstacles in the way of establishing sound trade relations with other countries.

LAUDED: The range DIG and the district administration lauded the performance of officials of government departments, including police, for maintaining peace during Muharram and arranged a dinner in their honour here on Thursday night.

Speaking at the dinner, DIG Altaf Qamer said the ulema and religious scholars had also played their due role for Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen during Muharram. He also appreciated the performance of police and the district administration who performed their duties diligently day and night.

District coordination officer Fazeel Asgher, district Nazim Fiaz Ahmad Chattha, journalists Akram Malik and Ijaz Mir and others also spoke on the occasion. They underlined the need for maintaining religious harmony and brotherhood established during the Muharram.
