Malaysia to face Pakistan today

KARACHI, March 9: Malaysia will start their tour of the country when they face Pakistan in first of the four Test series at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium on Wednesday at 3 p,m.

Pakistan juniors were held to a 2-2 draw in the four match series by the Netherlands last week. But Pakistan youngsters will be looking forward to win the series against the Malaysians.

Pakistan team management is however planning to use the series for experimenting to monitor the performance of pool of 25 players named by the selection committee.

Malaysian team arrived on Tuesday from New Delhi after losing the four match series against India juniors 4-0. Malaysian lost the matches against Indian juniors 4-1, 4-2, 5-0 and 6-5.

Malaysian squad:

Khair-ul-Nizam Ibrahim, Mohd Hanafi Hassan (goalkeepers); Abd Malek Engku Mohamad, Baljit Singh Bubalan Sandrakasi, Megat Azrafiq, Mohd Sallehin (defenders); Mohd Shahrun, Mohd Sufian Mohammad, Jovan Mohan Prahbakarn Pertiyathamby, Md Izwan Hassan (midfielder); Ahmed Tajuddin, Mohd Fairus Hamsani, Muhamad Ameerrullah, Serarju Sandrakasi, Kevinder Singh (forwards).
