KARACHI, March 5: Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has directed all provincial departments to develop a coordinated strategy and fully participate in the polio eradication campaign commencing on March 9.

The governor, reminding all the concerned that 2004 is the year of polio eradication as internationally declared. Pakistan has to achieve the goal, he said, underscoring the need for all out efforts to ensure 100 per cent immunization coverage throughout Sindh.

He directed the departments to fully participate in the event and provide necessary staff support, as well as vehicles, to the respective EDOs (Health) across the province.

He was of the view that Education department could also play its role by sensitizing schoolchildren about importance of the recent campaign. Dr Ibad asked officials of Excise and Auqaf departments, to provide transport support to the mobile teams of Health department in their districts.

The governor further directed all the DCOs in Sindh to line up available resources to achieve the desired goal. -APP
