Published March 6, 2004

KARACHI, March 5: The All Pakistan Women's Association will mark the Women's Day with a ceremony organized in this connection at the APWA Headquarters on March 8.

In a statement issued here on Friday, a spokesperson for the APWA said that a flag, especially designed for the day, would be hoisted at the APWA Headquarters on March 8.

"The day reminds us about the beginning of the struggle of women for emancipation world wide," she said. The APWA chief expressed concern over the growing environment of violence and insecurity faced by women and children. She urged the government and the NGOs to strive for a united, prosperous and enlightened Pakistan. -APP
