GUJRANWALA, Feb 29: Traders and residents of Ghakhar Town have protested over the poor sanitation system in Old Kot Noora Road and adjacent localities.

Participants in a meeting, presided over by Anjuman Tajran president Mian Moon Saqib on Sunday, said that the Old Kot Noora Road and adjacent markets and streets had been under sewage for the last one week because of chocked gutters.

They alleged that the union council concerned has failed to revamp the sanitation system. They threatened to come on roads against the Wazirabad tehsil council authorities if chocked gutters were not cleared within two days.

PLEA TO GOVT: The All Pakistan Technical Draftsmen Federation has urged the government to reserve 50 per cent quota of constructed houses for retired employees in Lahore's Mohlanwal scheme.

A meeting of the federation presided over by its provincial president Haji Bashir Ahmad Sial on Sunday appreciated the government for acquiring 940 acres in Mohlanwal for the construction of 40,000 houses for its employees.

The meeting demanded that retired employees should be allowed to get these houses and the price should be deducted from their pensions.
