PESHAWAR, Feb 25: An accused arrested in an honour-related murder on Wednesday confessed to have committed the crime, before court of a judicial magistrate. The accused Ijaz Khan of Sheen Qamar, Khyber Agency, alleged that the deceased Afsar Khan had illicit relations with his aunt.

The accused Ijaz and his relative Aziz Khan had fired at the deceased Afsar Khan and his friend Sahib Gul near Shabistan cinema on Sunday last. Some officials of traffic police arrested the two accused on the spot. An FIR was registered against them at the Hasthnagri police station under section 302 of Pakistan Penal Code.

The accused Ijaz was produced before the judicial magistrate Asghar Ali Shah, he recorded his statement under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Ijaz stated that nine years ago the deceased Afsar Khan had relations with their aunt. He added that they had killed their aunt in Tirrah, Khyber Agency, but Afsar Khan had escaped from the agency and had been hiding from them.

He claimed that on Sunday he and his relative Aziz were passing through the Shabistan cinema area when they spotted Afsar there. He added that they fired at him. The accused said that he had no regrets over the act.
