SUKKUR, Feb 23: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said the government will ensure judicious distribution of national resources among the provinces under the fourth National Finance Commission award.

Talking to journalists in Jaferabad on Monday, Mr Jamali said a meeting of the NFC would be held in Peshawar on Feb 9 in this regard. He said it would be ensured that no province was deprived of its due share in the NFC award.

The prime minister said it was the policy of the government to give the provinces maximum financial help to enable them to overcome their problems. About his Iran visit, he described the visit fruitful as he said both the countries understood each other's viewpoint and also decided to increase cooperation.

He said a delegation of Iran would visit Pakistan on March 4 to explore bilateral trade opportunities and cooperation between the two countries. He also described peace talks with India quite promising.

Answering a question, the prime minister said his government was implementing its programme of gas and electricity projects all over the country. Referring to the law and order situation in Balochistan, he observed that it was a provincial matter and said the Balochistan government was capable to tackle the problem.
