SIALKOT, Feb 19: A woman was beaten up and humiliated by her husband and his two companions after they failed to take her away from Daska courts here on Thursday.

According to FIR lodged with the Daska police station, the woman, a resident of Sadra Badra village, came to record her statement to Daska civil judge Ikramul Haq with whom she had submitted a suit against her husband, Asjad Javed, for the cancellation of their Nikah.

Before her appearance in court, the two parties failed to come to terms at the chamber of Advocate Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmad. After this, her husband dragged her out of the chamber, thrashed her and tore her clothes with the help of his two companions, Nawaz and Sarfraz. They left her lying stripped outside the court.

The civil judge took serious notice of the incident and ordered the Daska city police to register a case against the three men. On the report of the victim, the Daska police registered a case under sections 342, 354 PPC against Asjad and his two companions. Further investigation is under way.
