Third day of drive against Musharraf

KARACHI, Feb 15: On the third day of the ARD's movement to remove President Musharraf, PPP leaders set up protest camps at different places in the city on Sunday.

The protesters assembled at the camps were addressed by ARD leaders Mamnoon Hussain, Lal Bux Bhutto, Rafique Engineer, Saleem Zia, Khalil Qureshi, Raheel Iqbal, Israr Maswani, Anwar Raza and others.

They flayed present government's policies and asked Gen Pervez Musharraf to adhere to the aspirations of the masses. They declared that the 'drama' of illegal trial of the national hero, Dr A. Q. Khan, could not succeed and demanded that the nuclear scientist be produced before the parliament.

They deplored the crude manners in which actions were taken against Dr Khan and other nuclear scientists which, they said, had earned bad name to the country.

Prof N. D. Khan and Muzaffar Ali Shujra, speaking at a PPP camp, said that Gen Musharraf had caused harm to the national prestige at every front and now the military rulers would had to leave the democratic and political system.
