LARKANA, Feb 9: A party of the district and sessions court on Monday recovered a man illegally detained at the Civil Lines police station. Raza Khoso had filed a petition alleging that Mohsin Ali and Suleman Khoso were arrested by the SHO of Civil Lines police station on Feb 7.

The police had also taken away Rs80,000 cash, gold worth Rs35,000 and a gun, the petitioner said. The court appointed Mukhtair Lanjar as the raid commissioner with the instructions to pay a surprise visit to the police station. He found Hassan Raza and Suleman Khoso kept in a police quarter.

The police showed the entry of Hassan Raza in Roznamcha while they failed to produce any documents about the arrest of Suleman Khoso. Mr Lanjar directed the SHO to appear before the court on Tuesday to explain his position regarding the arrest of the two men.
