Govt urged to arrest POL prices

Published May 18, 2002

GUJRAT, May 17: The government should evolve a comprehensive strategy to fix the prices of petroleum products to help exporters meet their targets.

This was stated at a press release by Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Haji Illyas here on Friday.

The president termed increase in prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and electricity inimical to exporters who had already been coping with high costs of production.

The recent increase in prices of petroleum products would enhance the cost of the country’s products, he added.
