SAHIWAL, Jan 22: The opposition leader in the district council said here on Thursday local Nazims and Naib Nazims had decided to submit their en bloc resignation to the Punjab governor against the alleged favouritism by the district Nazim.

However, he said, they had deferred the decision for a fortnight on the assurance of the local bodies secretary that he would redress their grievances.

Opposition leader Basharat Gilani and some Nazims and Naib Nazims said at a press conference that they had never been provided funds for development in their areas. They alleged that the district Nazim had instead provided funds to those who lost the elections.
