GUJRANWALA, Jan 16: The Punjab government will start bus service in Gujranwala and suburbs on the GT Road, while the wagons of the Transport Society Gujranwala will be given other routes.

It is learnt that the transport ministry is finalizing a strategy to start the bus service from Kamoki to Wazirabad and suburbs. According to a report, the ministry is negotiating with transporters to get them ready to start the bus service.

The district administration had got started TSG wagon service from Wazirabad to Kamoki enroute Ghakkhar, Rahwali and Eminabad some eight years ago and some 500 wagons were being run on this route.

SHOW-CAUSE NOTICE: The deputy inspector general of police has issued show-cause notices to some 12 station house officers for inefficiency. Speaking at a meeting here on Friday, DIG Altaf Qamar warned the inefficient SHOs and other police officers to improve their performance, otherwise a strict action would be taken against them.

LOOTED: Highwaymen looted passengers of a wagon here on Friday. According to a report reaching here, a wagon was on its way to Nandpur, Kamoki, when it was intercepted by four armed men. They snatched cash, wristwatches, gold ornaments and other valuables from passengers and escaped.
