MIRPURKHAS, Jan 16: The sanitation system of the city has collapsed due to negligence of sanitary officials of the Taluka Municipal Administration.
According to a survey conducted by this correspondent on Friday, the sanitary staff is not performing its duties properly and heaps of garbage had accumulated on roads and streets.
Sewerage water had accumulated on roads and streets due to chocked gutters, resultantly roads had been damaged. The localities badly affected are Pak colony, Bhan Singhabad, Dholanabad, Taurabad, Panhwar colony, Hirabad, Gharibabad, Lalchandabad, Muslimabad, Johar colony, Rahim Nagar, Rajar colony, Sir Syed road, Jamnadas colony, government Ibn-i-Rushd girls college, M.A. Jinnah road, Nai Para, Walkart and New town.
ACCIDENTS: The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Sindh joint secretary Abdul Majeed Rajput has expressed concern over traffic accidents on the Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas road due to its dilapidated condition.
Talking to newsmen on Friday, he said many a death had occurred while so many others were injured in the road accidents and added that the government had already allocated funds for repairs and patch work of the road but its condition was dilapidated as it had developed big craters. He urged authorities to take measures for smooth flow of traffic.
NAZIM: Taluka Nazim Syed Inayat Shah on Thursday directed the officials to store sufficient quantity of water to avoid water shortage during the closure of Nara canal for annual desilting.
He said this at a meeting of the Taluka municipal administration which reviewed the availability of water in the reservoirs in the wake of the Nara canal closure.
Municipal officer, officer infrastructure and services, in charge urban water supply and officials of the other water supply schemes attended the meeting. He warned that action would be taken against those who were found guilty of negligence.
DPSC: District Public Safety Commission chairman Abdul Rehman Jan Sarhandi has appealed to the people to send their complaints to the DPSC. He was presiding over a meeting of the commission at the Darbar hall on Wednesday. The DPO and DDO revenue also attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed how to carry out work of the commission.
