KARACHI, Jan 14: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has assured Shaista Almani of protection and facilities and given her Rs200,000. The governor, who is in Islamabad, talked to Ms Almani at the women's police station over telephone.

He inquired from Ms Almani about the problems being faced by her family and assured her that she would not be shifted against her wish.

On the occasion, Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain also talked to Ms Almani on telephone. Ms Almani's father requested the governor for his daughter's protection and appointment of his son in the police.-APP
