TIMERGARA, Jan 13: The district administration of Lower Dir has called out the Frontier Reserved Police as the situation arising from the controversy over the ownership of a seminary between two religious groups is getting tense.

Officials said that the administration had called out contingents of the police force from Bunir district and other areas to avoid any eventuality.

The Jamaat-i-Islami and the banned outfit, Tehrik Nifaz-i- Shariat Mohammadi (TNSM), of Maulana Sufi Mohammad are running dispute over the ownership of a seminary at Kumbar.

At present the activists of the defunct TNSM have taken over the possession of the seminary, and also held a protest meeting on Monday. They distributed pamphlets carrying message of their detained leader.

Maulana Sufi Mohammad, in his message, rejecting the claim of JI over the seminary urged his workers not to vacate the seminary. The meeting also demanded the release of the TNSM leader.

On the other hand JI leaders asked the local administration to remove the workers of the TNSM from the seminary and allow people to offer Friday's prayers in the mosque.
