SHEIKHUPURA, Jan 9: A lawyer was killed while his two other people were injured by three people in police uniform on the district courts premises here on Friday.

Advocate Ghulam Nabi Nagi along with Javaid Dagra and Mohammad Akram was sitting in the canteen near the court of additional district and sessions judge Chaudhry Anwaar Ahmad when three men in police uniform appeared and opened fire on them. The lawyer died on the spot, while Javaid and Akram sustained serious injuries. The injured were taken to hospital.

The three culprits managed to escape from the scene while their car was impounded and driver Abdul Waheed arrested. The slain lawyer was the Lahore High Court Bar's Executive Committee member and former secretary-general of the Ferozewala Bar Association.

MURDERED: Mukhtar was shot dead allegedly by four rivals in Dera Khurshaid here on Friday. B division police are investigating.
