KARACHI, Jan 4: Sanitary conditions in Malir are at the lowest ebb owing to accumulation of garbage on roads, streets and in Mohallahs. Garbage is seen littered in and around parks, playgrounds, on roadsides and in Mohallah streets, specially in G. H. F(N), E-I, E-II and other areas of Khokhrapar as there is no proper arrangement of cleaning of streets by sanitary workers.

In most of the areas, garbage carrying vehicles visit the dumping sites after weeks, and trash and garbage continues to accumulate on footpaths as spillover from garbage bins.

Area people say they are forced to hire private sanitary workers, as the town and UC administrations are encouraging this practice and tell them that they don't have the proper number of sanitary workers to ensure cleaning of roads and streets in every mohallah.

Although, sanitary workers are deputed by councillors for their duties and carry on cleaning on their instructions, there is no proper schedule for the cleaning of various localities.

The area people have urged the Sindh chief minister to look into their sufferings and the town administration to prepare a proper weekly schedule for cleaning of their Mohallah streets.
