KARACHI, Jan 1: The services rendered by Ali Ahmed Brohi and Allama Ghulam Mustafa Qasmi for literature, history and journalism would always be remembered. The Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University, Prof Zafar Said Saify, said this while speaking as chief guest at a memorial reference held at a local hotel, says a statement on Thursday.

The VC described Mr Brohi and Allama Qasmi as eminent scholars and researchers, and recounted their contributions towards the Sindh civilization and culture. Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Information Secretary Ms Mahtab Akbar Rashidi said that Allama Qasmi was a great scholar of the 20th century.

Ghulam Ali Allana said that the books of Ali Ahmed Brohi were informative and one could learn a lot from these. The VC announced on the occasion that the KU would get published the unprinted books of Allama Qasmi. Taj Joyo, Qasim Bughio andFehmida Hussain also shed light on the life, contributions and achievements of Mr Brohi and Allama Qasmi on the occasion.-APP
