DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jan 28: A local leader of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists on Dayal road on the outskirts of Dera city on Tuesday night.

According to police Said Anwar Shaha alias Athhar Shah was coming back to his residence from his fields on his motorbike when unidentified motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire on him. He was killed on the spot. The deceased belonged to Sadat, a renowned family of the area.

His funeral prayers were held at Kotli Imam Hussain amid tight security.

Police registered FIR under 302 PPC against unidentified assailants.

All the markets and business centres remained closed in Topanwala bazaar.
