HYDERABAD, Jan 18: Police have arrested a man who has been accused of kidnapping Tando Allahyar EDO (health) Dr Abdul Jalil Bachani in Tando Adam.

Confirming the arrest of Khadim Khoso, police said that he carried a head money of Rs500,000 and was involved in several cases of kidnapping for ransom.

Police teams are trying to arrest Ali Bux Lund, Wakeel Khokhar and Allah Jurio as they are the prime accused in the case. Police sources said that Lund was believed to be in Hyderabad district.

Police have confirmed that Rs2 million were paid as ransom to dacoits, holding Bachani in captivity. Bachani was kidnapped on Nov 22, 2008 and was freed on Jan 10, 2009.

His family had denied payment of ransom. But later DPO Hyderabad confirmed a payment of Rs2 million to the dacoits.
