Two die in city accidents

LAHORE, Jan 11: Two people were killed in two accidents here on Sunday.

Muhammad Arif, 23, of Havali Nathhowali, Kasur, and his pillion Haroon were riding on motorcycle on Main Road in Kahna when their bike hit a minibus parked on the road. Both of them were taken to Lahore General Hospital where Arif succumbed to his injuries.

The Kahna police registered a case against the driver of the minibus on the complaint of Haroon who alleged that wrong parking of the vehicle caused the accident.

An unidentified man was crossing Khokhar Road in Badami Bagh when a speeding truck ran over him, killing him on the spot. The police sent the body for autopsy and identification.

ROBBERIES: Robbers took away cash and cell phones from four people in street crime incidents here on Sunday.

Two robbers stopped Muhammad Iqbal in Shahdara and looted Rs22,000 and a cell phone while as many robbers waylaid Asad Ali in Liaqatabad and snatched from him Rs13,000 and a cell phone.

Mansoor Feroz was robbed of Rs18,000 and a cell phone in Garden Town while Gulzar Hussain was deprived of Rs10,000 and a cell phone in North Cantonment.
