DHAKA, Jan 7: Bangladesh on Wednesday named 19-year-old uncapped pacer Rubel Hossain in a 14-man squad for this week’s tri-nation one-day tournament and the limited overs series against Zimbabwe later in January.

The tournament featuring Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe takes place in Dhaka from Jan 10 to 16. The hosts face the Africans in the opening match and the two teams meet again in the ODI series from Jan 19 to 23.

Paceman Nazmul Hossain and all-rounder Mahmudullah return to the squad while left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jr also makes a comeback to the ODI side having played his last match almost three years ago.

Off-spinning all-rounder Naeem Islam is included after recovering from an injury but there is no room for batsmen Imrul Kayes, Rajin Saleh and bowlers Shahadat Hossain and Sajedul Islam, who were part of the squad that lost 2-0 in the recent Test series with Sri Lanka.

Squad: Mohammad Ashraful (captain), Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal, Junaid Siddique, Raqibul Hasan, Shakib Al Hasan, Mehrab Hossain Jr, Naeem Islam, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahbubul Alam, Nazmul Hossain, Rubel Hossain, Enamul Haque Jr.—Reuters
