KARACHI, May 13: Spencer Eye Hospital administration has announced free of charge ‘Diode Laser Surgery’ for needy patients suffering from Epiphora, causing constant flow of tears due to blockage of nasolacrimal duct, the thin tubular connection between the eyes and the nose.

The procedure termed as dacroystorhinostomy (DCR) is only recommended when medical treatment of the condition is not possible.

It has been introduced in Pakistan by ENT Surgeon, Fasihullah Mir, who along with Eye Surgeon Qazi Wasiq, has successfully performed six DCR procedures by using Diode Laser Technology at Spencer Eye Hospital.

The procedure is done without an external incision. Since there is no external cut, no scar nor any bleeding takes place, therefore, usually the patients also needs no dressing and the concerned patients are also discharged the same day.—APP
