Policeman shot dead in Larkana

LARKANA, Dec 30: A head constable was shot at and killed from point blank range by assailants in a rickshaw when he signalled it to stop at Bank Square here on Tuesday.

Reports said as soon as the rickshaw stopped, its occupants fired at and killed Rustam Shaikh without sparing time before speeding away.

Another policeman standing nearby took to the heels after hearing the shots and fled into narrow lanes to save his life, reports said.

In other incidents, dacoits robbed a motorcyclist and snatched away a tractor in the outskirts of Qambar town during last 24 hours.

Three robbers stopped a local PPP leader Sadruddin Magsi on Qambar-Gaibidero road near Haseeb Chandio village and snatched away his motorcycle, mobile phone and cash at gunpoint.

Robbers stopped a paddy-laden tractor-trolley on Qambar-Bair road and snatched away the tractor from driver Zulfikar Tunio.
