LARKANA, Dec 22: The entire Larkana district and a major part of Qambar-Shahdadkot district on Monday suffered two-hour loadshedding, which according to a Hesco official was part of routine and caused by suspension of power supply from Lodran grid station near Shikarpur.

Reports from Qambar said that the district had been without electricity for 11 hours and the local Hesco officials told the residents that main supply from the source station had been cut off without mentioning any reason.

Hundreds of villages receiving power supply from Qambar grid station experienced a long outage.

A source in Larkana Hesco said that both 66KV and 132KV grid stations supplying power to 21 feeders in Larkana and Dadu districts were shut down as main power supply was suspended from Lodran power station.

Power supply to Larkana, Dokri, Ratodero, Badah, Warah, Radhan and other towns and villages remained suspended from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

The source said that power supply to Larkana had been suspended on the orders of the company’s higher authorities and it would be restored only under their instructions.

The outage for two hours severely affected routine life in Larkana and Qambar towns. The Larkana Radio Station continued its transmissions through generators because they were not informed about the duration of outage, sources at the station said.
