JACOBABAD, Dec 12: A youth was killed by robbers at his shop near Tower police picket here on Friday.

Sandeep Kumar, 18, and his father Darshan Lal, were sitting at their shop of plastic bags, when three robbers entered the shop and tried to rob them of cash. Darshan Lal left the cash while his son Sandeep Kumar offered resistance.

The robbers shot dead Sandeep and fled from the scene.

Police shifted the body to civil hospital for autopsy. Darshan did not agree to conduct a post-mortem examination of his son’s body and took it away with him.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Hindu community people gathered at the house of Darshan Lal and at Hindu Panchayat Hall. The protesters announced that they would observe a shutter down on Saturday. Later, they took out a rally against police from Panchayat Hall, after marching through various thoroughfares of the city reached Quetta road where they blocked the road for two hours.

DPO Fareed Jan Sarhandi with heavy contingents arrived on the spot. The DPO assured early arrest of the robbers and told protesters that as he was informed about the incident he had rushed from Tangwani. On the assurance of the DPO they dispersed peacefully.

Our Shikarpur correspondent adds: A hotel employee identified as Hyder Bux, a resident of Kafilo Kilo mohalla, was shot dead by three armed motorcyclists when he was working at Khosa Hotel situated at Mirani Mohalla Chowk in the jurisdiction of New Foujdari here on Friday. Motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.

The relatives of the deceased blocked the station road outside the Civil Hospital to protest the murder.

The road was reopened for vehicular traffic after police held out assurance for an early arrest of the culprits.
