HYDERABAD, Dec 7: The Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party on Sunday criticised a resolution tabled in the Hyderabad district council’s Saturday session, proposing that Hyderabad airport be renamed as Khursheed Begum Airport.

Khursheed Begum was mother of Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Altaf Hussain.

The party’s spokesman Nandlal Malhi said in a press statement that the party would strongly resist the move, adding that the airport should be renamed as the Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai airport.

Meanwhile, STP chairman announced support for PPP candidate Gul Mohammad Jakhrani, contesting by-elections for NA-210 Kashmore seat.
