KARACHI, Dec 4: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has, under Section-144 Cr.PC, banned setting up of centres for collection of hides and skins of sacrificial animals without prior permission/written approval of city nazim, city district government or an authorised officer acting on his behalf.

According to a CDGK release, the action has been taken to prevent snatching of hides/skins from charity organisations during the upcoming Eid holidays and to avert the danger to human life and breach of peace. The order would remain in force for seven days, it said, adding that no person, agency or association would be allowed to use camps, vehicles, bungalows, houses or offices for the collection of hides/skins of sacrificial animals during the ban period. Such activities by way of advertisement, banners, handbills/brochures, wall-chalking or any other means without the requisite permission have also been banned.

Through a separate order, the nazim has also banned the setting up of animal markets at any place within the CDGK limits other than the official cattle markets set up on main Hub River Road near Wilayat Ali Shah Mazar, Baldia Town; main Super Highway, Scheme-33, Shah Latif Town; Sector-22, Bin Qasim Town; Bakra Peeri Road, Malir Town; Khurramabad Ground near rice godowns, Mehran Highway, Landhi; and Main Manghopir Road near Javedan Cement Factory, Site Town.

The order, issued on Thursday under Section-144 Cr.PC, has come into force with immediate effect and will remain in place for seven days, according to the release.—APP
