KARACHI: City violence

KARACHI, Dec 3: Diplomats of 26 countries led by Dean of Diplomatic Corp Dr Hasan Attar called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan at the Governor’s House on Wednesday and received a briefing on recent violence in Karachi.

The governor apprised the diplomats of the factors behind recent disturbances in the city and the steps taken by provincial government to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future. He also gave the background that led to the violence. He appreciated the role of political parties in helping the government control the situation.
