KARACHI: 35 vehicles taken away

KARACHI, Nov 22: As many as 35 vehicles – eight cars and 27 motorcycles – and 44 mobile phones were taken away by Saturday evening in different parts of the city.

In most of the armed hold-ups, the bandits also deprived the victims of their cash and personal belongings.

Officials said that five cars were snatched at gunpoint within the police limits of Gizri, Darakhshan, Yousuf Plaza, Sachal and Shahrah-i-Noorjahan.

They said three automobiles were stolen in the police jurisdictions of Ferozeabad, Mehmoodabad and Taimuria.

Besides, the officials said, eight motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint within the police precincts of Federal B Industrial Area, Sachal, Brigade, Jamshed Quarters, Korangi Industrial Area and Super Market. They said that 19 other bikes were stolen in different parts of the city.

Moreover, the officials said, as many as 29 mobile phone handsets were snatched at gunpoint and 15 others were stolen across the city by the evening.
