KARACHI, Nov 19: President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Sindh, Syed Ghaus Ali Shah has said that his party will not allow privatisation of the PIA.

He was talking to a delegation of the PIA employees’ body, Air League, led by its general secretary, Shamim Akmal, here on Wednesday. Other PML leaders, Sardar Rahim and Mohammad Zahid Rafique Butt, were also present.

The delegation drew Mr Shah’s attention to the alleged violation of laws by the PIA administration and NIRC with regard to the upcoming referendum for PIA CBA.

Mr Akmal alleged that the PIA administration was not delivering the voters list to the AL and refusing to reinstate the union’s office-bearers. He also took up the matter of confirmation letters of contract employees which, he claimed, were being distributed through the administration’s favourite union.

The PML-N leaders called for holding the referendum in a free, fair and transparent manner.
