KARACHI: Infant dies in firing

KARACHI, Oct 30: An infant died from a gunshot wound in North Nazimabad late on Wednesday night.

Police said three-month-old Michael was brought to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by his brother, Abraham, from Umar Farooq Colony, in Block Q, North Nazimabad.

The infant had a gunshot wound in the head. He died during the treatment in the hospital. The police, quoting the infant’s brother, said the baby was hit by a stray bullet.

The police registered a case against unknown suspects.

Meanwhile, unknown persons killed a deranged man in Orangi Town on Thursday.

The police said that Mohammad Shaheen, 35, who was mentally unstable, was shot dead at a playground in Sector 13-D of Orangi Town. The victim’s body was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The police could not ascertain the motive behind the killing.
