HYDERABAD, Oct 27: The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) on Monday issued instructions to the SDOs and revenue officers of the company and commercial banks to charge only 60 per cent of Hesco bills for the month of September. The Hesco made it clear that the concession was available only for the month of September and the consumers would have to pay the arrears later.

BRANCH INAUGURATED: The president of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Haji Mohammad Yaqoob, strongly opposed levy of 0.3 per cent withholding tax on banking transactions and demanded that it be withdrawn.

He said after inaugurating a branch of the KASB Bank at Market area here the other day that the KASB bank was extending all facilities to business community. Competition among the banks was a guarantee for better services to customers, he said.

The group head of the bank, Amir Zahoor Khan, said that in addition to providing evening banking service to business community, the bank would also extend help in agriculture and business loans.

A large number of traders attended the function.
