KARACHI, Oct 22: Second seed Punjab rounded off its league matches on a winning note handing a 3-0 drubbing to hosts and third seed Sindh in the Hasan Musa Squash Championship team event at Hyderabad Gymkhana on the penultimate day on Wednesday.

According to results made available here, Punjab, who the other day upset top seed PAF 2-1 topped the competition securing three points from as many matches and set to meet latter for the title battle. The PAF collected two points.

Sindh and Balochistan will take on each other in the playoff for the third position. Balochistan finished ahead of the hosts with one point in the event that featured four teams.

In another match, the PAF inflicted 3-0 defeat on Balochistan.

In the girls, Punjab carved out 2-1 victory over Sindh and the two teams will take on each other in the final.

Results: Boys: PAF bt Balochistan 3-0 (Bilal Zakir bt Mohammad Aijaz 9-4, 9-5, 9-3; Fazal Mahmood bt Jawed Ali 9-1, 9-7, 9-1; Faraz Mohammad bt Saif Ullah 9-0, 10-8, 9-1).

Punjab bt Sindh 3-0 (Moin Rauf bt Faisal Khan 9-1, 9-0, 9-0; Shah Jahan bt Bilal Khan 9-3, 9-2, 9-0; Ali Bukhari bt Saad Shahid 10-8, 9-0, 9-1).

Girls: Punjab bt Sindh 2-1 (Monisa Nasir bt Mahrukh Shaikh 9-1, 3-9, 9-7, 9-0; Komal Gill lost to Mehak Shakeel 1-9, 0-9, 0-9; Riffat Khan bt Ayesha Zafar 9-0, 9-0, 9-1).

Thursday’s fixtures:

At 12.00noon (Boys playoff for 3rd position) Balochistan v Sindh

At 1.00pm: (Girls final) Punjab v Sindh.

At 3.00pm: (Boys final) Punjab v PAF.
