Qasim seeks election as PHF head

ISLAMABAD, Oct 19: Former Olympian Qasim Zia will be seeking his election as president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) at the federation’s Congress meeting in Rawalpindi on Monday.

Qasim was appointed as the new PHF president by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani after resignation of Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali.

PHF secretary Asif Bajwa told Dawn on Sunday that the agenda of the meeting would include election of the new PHF president, budget for the next year and approval of calendar events.

He said, “PHF vice president Saeed Khan will head the meeting.”
