SUKKUR, Oct 19: The ongoing dispute between Mahar and Gabol communities claimed a life near village Bachal Gabol situated in Yaroo Loond police limits Ghotki district on Sunday.

Suhbat Gabol, son of Qaiser Gabol, 25, riding a motorcycle was on his way to Bachal Gabol village from Soomar Mori village, when he reached near his destination four unknown armed persons intercepted him and opened fire, killing him on the spot and fled.

The body was shifted to Civil Hospital, Mirpur Mathelo for legal formalities after three hours reportedly due to a dispute of jurisdiction between the Khanpur Mahar and Yaroo Loond police stations.

However, Yaroo Loond police handed over the dead body to the deceased’s cousin, Shah Baig Gabol, who told the police that Suhbat Gabol was killed due to the ongoing dispute between Mahar and Gabol communities and Miran Mahar along with his accomplices had killed him. However, no case has been registered.

The dispute between the Mahar and the Gabol communities had started four months ago over the killing of an alleged dacoit Abdul Rahim Gabol at the hands of some members of the Mahar community, which sparked enmity between both the groups and so far five persons including a woman, had lost their lives from both sides.

WOMAN INJURED: An elderly woman was injured seriously by her son over a property dispute at Bakhar Chowk Muhalla situated in “C” section police limits, Old Sukkur on Sunday.

Qalandar Bux Mahar was having a dispute with his mother, Sardaran Khatoon, 60, over some property and on Sunday after an exchange of hot words with his mother he attacked her with a wooden stick, injuring her seriously and fled.

The injured woman was shifted to Civil Hospital, Sukkur. She told the newsmen that her son wanted to forcibly occupy her entire property and he along with his accomplice, Latif Dino, attacked her with a wooden stick in an attempt to kill her.
