KARACHI, Oct 9: The inaugural Hasan Musa squash championship will be held at Hyderabad Gymkhana squash complex from Oct 18 to 23, organisers announced on Thursday.

The event is being organised by Hyderabad District Squash Association in collaboration with Sindh Squash Association (SSA) to acknowledge the contribution of the deceased. It will be a biannual event in future.

Musa, the former President of SSA and ex vice-president of the World Squash Federation, Asian Squash Federation and Pakistan Squash Federation was gunned down outside his formerly PIA Squash Complex office on Kashmir Road in 1997.

It will be staged in under-15 boys and girls individual and team event. The players will be provided accommodation at the Sindh Sports Board hostel.

Last date for submission of entries is Oct 14.
