KARACHI: Fire breaks out in godown

KARACHI, Oct 5: A major fire broke out in a grain godown in Lyari on Sunday, officials of the Central Fire Brigade said.

They said that up to 19 fire tenders reached the spot and brought the blaze under control.

The officials said a fireman, identified as Mirza Kamran Baig, was injured owing to smoke inhalation and had been hospitalized.

According to Chief Fire Officer Ehteshamuddin, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be ascertained immediately.—APP
