KHAIRPUR: TMA asked to work diligently

Published September 24, 2008

KHAIRPUR, Sept 23: Taluka Municipal Administration (TMA) should ensure provision of clean drinking water, proper sanitation, sewerage, street lighting, and other civic amenities while slackness in this regard will not be tolerated, warned PPP MNA Nafisa Shah.

Speaking at a reception hosted in her honour by Asadullah Maitlo, a social worker of Abid Colony, she said that she had received complaints of discrimination while appointing sanitation staff by the Taluka Municipal Administration.

She said preference ought to be given to people doing sanitation work since long.

Residents of Abid Colony and other colonies complained that sewerage water was standing at different roads including Law College Road, streets and Mohallas since last four days.

She directed a Taluka Municipal Administration Officer in the Open Katchehry to immediately drain the stagnant water out. Nafisa Shah also directed the TMO to furnish details of Muslims appointed as sanitation staff.
