HYDERABAD, Sept 17: The HRCP Special Task Force, Hyderabad taking notice of forcible possession of land of liberated haris has called upon the authorities to take action as they were living in Hari Camp, Siakranabad, Kotri.

Acting coordinator Waseem Abro and legal adviser Nisar Ahmed Chandio while speaking during a news conference at the press club here on Wednesday said that a group of hoodlums led by Sudheer Oad were engaged in immoral activities, including the sale of narcotics, land grabbing and extortion. Usher claims to be a volunteer of an NGO, Green Rural Development Organisation, they said adding that he was also an agent of Kotri police and was harassing liberated haris.

They said that an FIR had been registered against Sudheer at Kotri police station but without any action.

Waseem Abro refuted Sudheer’s allegation and said that the local HRCP office had received many complaints against him. He demanded action against those engaged in criminal activities at hari camp.

Nisar Ahmed Chandio in reply to a question said that the HRCP had submitted many applications against criminals to relevant authorities.

Yet to another, Waseem Abro said that as many as 7,500 liberated haris, including women and children were living at the Sikandarabad hari camp while working as labourers. He said authorities had failed in making efforts for rehabilitating the liberated haris on permanent basis.

Meanwhile, a group of liberated haris led by Sudheer Oad staged a protest demonstration against Waseem Abro and Nisar Chandio.

They levelled similar allegations against them as were alleged by Waseem Abro and Nisar Chandio at the press conference against Sudheer Oad.
