RAWALPINDI, Sept 10: Three persons were murdered in separate incidents in the city, while six people were deprived of their vehicles and cash by unidentified culprits, police said on Wednesday.

Asif Mir, 28, was shot dead by his cousin in Islampura Mohallah, Pirwadhai, in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Police said the alleged killer, Tahir Butt, came to Asif’s house and shot him dead. The motive behind the murder was apparently some family dispute.

Mohammad Riaz, aged between 50 and 55, was gunned down outside his house in Westridge by unknown killers. The police have started investigating the case.

Mohammad Rashid, a farmer, was shot dead by a man and his two sons over a petty issue in Dhamial village.

Police said Rashid’s cow was grazing in the fields which annoyed Mohammad Nazir. Later, Nazir along with his two sons – Mohammad Rafiq and Mohammad Nazakat – came there and allegedly shot at and injured Rashid. He died in hospital.

Meanwhile, Shafiq Ahmed’s car was stolen from New Town, Arshad Mehmood’s motorcycle from R.A. Bazaar, Amir Pervez’s car from Civil Lines, while cars owned by Imran Bashir and Muneeb Akhtar were taken away from Saddar.

Meanwhile, a gang of three robbers stormed a duplex house in the Civil Lines area and looted about Rs350,000 and gold ornaments at gunpoint.

Naeem Ahmed, one of the robbery victims, told the police that three unidentified robbers entered his house and held his family at gunpoint. The complainant said the robbers snatched Rs210,000 and gold jewellery from his family. Later, they went to the ground floor where Naeem’s brother was residing. Naeem said the robbers snatched Rs150,000 and gold jewellery from his brother’s family.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS: A batch of 32 illegal Pakistani immigrants, deported by Turkish authorities, arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday.

A senior official of the Federal Investigation Agency said all the deportees who arrived from Istanbul were taken into custody and handed over to the passport cell for further investigation.
