KARACHI, Sept 7: The three-member committee constituted by the federal health ministry to investigate the allegations of irregularities in the National Council for Homeopathy (NCH) has ordered issuance of notices to the NCH president and former chairman of its examination body who did not appear before it to explain their position in the meeting held on Tuesday in Islamabad.

The committee was formed on a complaint submitted by Syed Javed Hussain Shah, a member of the NCH, to the federal health ministry. The team is headed by Dr Azam Saleem, the joint-secretary of the ministry of health. The other two members are deputy secretary Jamil Ahmed and deputy director-general Dr Tahir Sajjad of the ministry.

The complainant, in his report, has highlighted flaws in the homeopathic system of education and the alleged irregularities in the DHMS annual examinations-2008.—APP
