Breach in canal damages crops

MIRPURKHAS, Aug 14: Over 40-foot wide breach developed in Doso minor, fed by Mithrao canal, which inundated many villages and agriculture land in taluka Sindhri on Wednesday night.

The breach developed due to overflow of water and weak embankments.

Naseer Mari, Walo Shar, Dhani Bux Shar and other villages were submerged while villagers shifted to safer places as the floodwater entered their houses.

Villagers plugged the breach on self-help basis. No irrigation official reached the spot till the filing of this report.
