KARACHI, May 6: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro said on Monday that supply of drinking water in all the small and big cities in the province and ensuring the laying of sewerage system was the foremost priority of the development plans of the provincial government.

He was presiding over a high-level meeting held at the Governor House in which various development projects were reviewed. The governor stressed on effective steps for improved system of water distribution in Karachi and to check its wastage. The meeting also reviewed the road construction programme and discussed the construction of Mauripur Road, Qayyumabad Road and the road from Qublai Khan Chowk to Bilawal House Chowk.

The governor directed that leakage of water at Mauripur road be checked. He also issued instruction for improving the work on IT related projects and preparation of PC-I for the establishment of IT University.—APP
