KARACHI, Aug 7: A division bench of the Sindh High Court comprising Justice Muneeb Ahmed Khan and Justice Syed Pir Ali Shah on Thursday issued notices to the DCO Karachi, North Nazimabad Town nazim and others on a petition seeking removal of telecommunication towers from the town’s residential area.

Counsel for the petitioners submitted that the town nazim had allowed installation phoned towers atop some residential buildings in the 5-C area without the consent of its population. Technicians and guards hired by the company visited the site off and on and disturb privacy of the petitioners’ families. They approached the town nazim with the complaint but no action was taken to address the issue.

The same bench adjourned the hearing of a similar petition, moved by residents of Block 5-A, Nazimabad.—PPI
